The Community Sustainability Hub (CSH) Is designed to bring the community together and empower it to be able respond to changing climate, social and economic conditions.
The CSH acknowledges First Nations as the Custodians of the Land and seeks their guidance and participation.
The objectives of the CSH are:-
Social cohesion is important to a community at all times and in particular when faced with a crises, such as that presented by the climate/biosphere.
Social cohesion cannot be built overnight and takes time, patience, commitment and money.
Key inputs to the CSH's program include:-
Inspiration for the CSH came from the One Planet Living Framework developed by Bioregional (UK), as a proven model based on OPL's ten principals.
In respect of OnePlanet.com, the (G-M) CSH has worked with OnePlanet and its community sustainability professionals to build a comprehensive set of mindmaps that define its plans. Leading the community structure is the Ecosystem.
Since its founding, some eight years ago, the CSH, with partners in SE NSW, has been working collectively to bring the community together to position it to be able to respond to address to the now growing climate impacts. Likewise to the impacts of urban and rural landscape degradation. Also to unexpected impacts such as the closure of the Straits of Hormuz.
Organisations, such the Capital Region Joint Organisation (CRJO), can greatly help with the adoption of One Planet Living, directly supported by the OnePlanet Ecosystem construct. This not least because Ecosystems can be connected-up and summarised across a geographic area.
The CSH acknowledges the growing support it receives from members of LinkedIn's Sustainability Professionals group.
The CSH, supported by One Planet Living and OnePlanet, is well placed to work in support of the community to build a sustainable future. The CSH makes it easier to use and to buiild talent and good-will. We are much stronger working together than separtely, as is largely the case at the moment.
