The NSW Department of Education has a sustainable schools program, see:- sustainableschoolsnsw.org.au/, that operates in Sydney with some take-up in rural NSW.
The intent of the G-M NSW Community Sustainability Hub's "Sustainable School" project is to help with the schools sustainability projects by bringing them together where possible, and link it to the wider projects, in particular with the University of Tasmania's Sustainable Living diploma and undergraduate degree course. Likewise say Southern Cross' regenerative agriculture course and relevant TAFE sustainability courses.
The above is to meet the need to restore urban and landscapes so they they are sustainable and productive. It is internationally acknowledged that restoration of Nature is the priority and one that delivers the greatest economic benefit.
A high-school sustainability program should adhere to the requirements of the NSW Education authority and could align to the UTAS Sustainable Living curriculum.

- To build a mycorrhizal fungi patch that would be used on the school grounds.
- To build a Johnson-Su using carbon and nitrogen sourced from their own grounds, with the soil innoculant used on the school grounds and sold to parents and beyond
- In the interim, Best Farming Systems may supply some of their compost free or at a discounted rate.
- Learn about regenerative agriculture
- Have some exposure to the Water NSW/Mulloon Institute's Sydney Water Catchment regeneration program
- The G-M CSH fresh food sufficiency project and carbon sequestration.
