Growing Vegetables Using Hugelkultur

Hugelkultur is a self-watering and self-fertilising method of growing vegetables organically that is ideal for our changing climate where we will have hotter days and less l less reliable rainfall including prolonged droughts.

We will need to be more self-sufficient as the delivery of vegetables from more remote locations becomes problemtic and expensive  

It is:-

• low cost
• low maintenance
• requires little or no additional watering after it is established
• manages frosty conditions
• Can last without maintenace for 20 years

It require a base of lumps of wood
It is built straight onto the ground or in a raised bed
